What are Square Premier Crane Man Baskets?
Square Premier crane man baskets are crane-suspended personnel platforms designed for confined or cluttered areas where a small, balanced footprint is essential. They help crews reach elevated work zones where scaffolding or mobile elevating work platforms are impractical, but space between structural steel, piping, or equipment is limited. The equal side lengths make it easier to maneuver the basket into tight pockets and orient it precisely without worrying about excess length or corner clearance.
Square platforms are especially useful on turbine decks, boiler fronts, and inside process buildings where equipment is arranged in grids and straight-sided platforms fit naturally into the available openings.
OSHA-Compliant Square Premier Man Baskets
Square Premier man baskets are engineered to meet or exceed OSHA requirements for crane-suspended personnel platforms. Each basket is supplied with an OSHA Certificate of Compliance, our detachable Test Weight System for 125% proof-load testing, access to Lifting Technologies online video training, and a safety and use handbook to support compliant lift planning, inspection, and operation.
The integrated round-tube frame and base-attached sling assembly are designed as a complete personnel lifting system, not a modified material basket, helping ensure predictable, stable performance even when the load inside the square footprint is not perfectly centered.
Square Premier Man Basket Features
Our crane man baskets are made according to OSHA specifications. They are safe, long-lasting, and dependable.
- Heavy-duty round-tube frame in a compact square footprint, with a braced truss skid system to keep the platform floor off the ground and protect the structure during storage and handling.
- Base-attached four-leg sling assembly plus a fifth tie-off leg to help keep the square platform level and maximize stability under dynamic crane movement.
- Perforated steel sides from toeboard to mid-rail to help contain tools and materials while maintaining visibility and reducing wind load.
- 42" guardrail, full-perimeter grab rail, mid-rail, and 6" toeboards to support personal fall arrest systems and help prevent dropped objects.
- Optional overhead protection with perforated steel skylights for work under falling-object hazards, providing approximately 6' 7" interior height on overhead models.
- Electrostatic powder-coat finish in yellow and black for resistance to impact, abrasion, chemicals, and corrosion.
- Detachable Test Weight System included with every square Premier basket to support 125% proof-load testing and OSHA compliance.

Overhead models use the same square footprints with perforated steel overhead protection added, maintaining OSHA-compliant guardrail heights and interior headroom.
Man baskets have a 42" guardrail height from the floor, and overhead models have a 79" inside height from the floor to the overhead frame. All dimensions are outside dimensions. Rated load capacity may be increased on a case-by-case basis where engineering permits, and overhead protection is available on all square Premier models.
