Emergency Rescue Man Baskets & Platforms
A rescue man basket is a crane-suspended personnel platform purpose-built for emergency extraction rather than routine maintenance work. It allows safety teams to move an injured worker, a gurney, and rescue technicians from elevated or otherwise inaccessible areas when stairs, ladders, or aerial lifts are not safe or available.

OSHA-Compliant Rescue Man Baskets with Drop-Down Gurney Ramps
Lifting Technologies rescue man baskets are built to meet or exceed OSHA requirements for crane-suspended personnel platforms while addressing the unique demands of emergency rescue. Each basket includes a drop-down access ramp that allows a wheeled gurney to roll directly onto the platform, reducing awkward lifting and helping protect both the patient and the rescue team.
Both Premier and Professional rescue models feature high-strength steel construction, a four-leg sling assembly with a fifth tie-off leg, and our detachable Test Weight System to support 125% proof-load testing. Red Cross insignia on both long sides of the basket provides immediate visual identification as rescue equipment, which is critical when coordinating emergency response on large job sites.

Our rescue man baskets include all the standard safety features of our crane-suspended man baskets plus purpose-built rescue enhancements.
- 4' x 8' platform sized to safely accommodate two rescue technicians and a gurney, with room for medical equipment and an attendant.
- Drop-down access ramp that allows roll-on gurney loading and can be equipped with an optional gate; ramp locks securely in the upright position during lifts.
- High-strength steel construction in Premier (round-tube) and Professional (square-tube) configurations to fit different budgets and fleet standards.
- Four-leg sling assembly suspension system of 1/2" 6x36 IWRC wire rope, secured to a master link, with a fifth leg for tie-off to the load line above the overhaul ball.
- Perforated steel sides from toeboard to mid-rail to help contain patients and equipment while maintaining visibility and reducing wind load.
- 42" high guardrail and full-perimeter inner grab rail providing personal fall-arrest anchorage in compliance with OSHA 1926.502, Subpart M.
- 6" toeboards and mid-rail around the perimeter to help prevent equipment from sliding off the platform.
- Optional overhead protection with perforated steel skylights, providing approximately 6' 7" interior height above the platform floor on overhead models.
- Red Cross insignia on both long sides of the basket for immediate recognition as a rescue platform.
- Electrostatic powder-coat finish designed to resist impact, abrasion, and corrosion.

Premier and Professional Rescue Man Baskets
Rescue platforms are available in both Premier and Professional Series versions, each using the same 4' x 8' footprint with drop-down ramp and Red Cross insignia. Premier rescue baskets use round-tube steel construction in the yellow-and-black finish, and are available with optional protective heavy-duty covers, while Professional rescue baskets use square-tube construction in solid red for a budget-conscious alternative.
Both series include the detachable Test Weight System, sling assembly, and OSHA-compliant guardrail and enclosure features, so safety programs can standardizerescue procedures regardless of which series is deployed.
